You’re invited to an unforgettable evening at Sobrino de Botín, serving patrons since 1725

Ad Age’s John Dioso and DAC's Mario Lemieux and Nasser Sahlool will introduce you to Antonio González, the current proprietor of Sobrino de Botín in Madrid, a restaurant that has weathered world and civil wars, the Spanish flu and fascism and is still soldiering on during another global pandemic.

This resiliency is only one part of this establishment’s history. Spanish painter Francisco de Goya worked there in the late 18th century. Botín was also a favorite haunt of early 20th century American writers like Graham Greene, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway, whose “The Sun Also Rises” mentions the restaurant by name.

Guests will be taken on a virtual tour of the restaurant, its kitchen and caves, housed in a building that dates from the late 16th century. Later, you’ll be able to ask Señor González questions about the centuries of history seen by Botin, as well as its signature dish, a fire-roasted suckling pig and the customs and culture of Madrid.

We look forward to exploring this iconic Spanish landmark with you.
